Gateway Kids Club – August Storytelling 2026

🎵 This is home, truly, where I know I must be 🎵 It’s Singapore’s birthday month, and we’re celebrating it at Gateway Kids Club with a month of stories about our beloved country. From legends of our past, to tales about the things that make us uniquely Singapore, join our storytellers on an exciting adventure of understanding this Little Red Dot that we call home! NEW SESSIONS ADDED WEEKLY Registration for each storytelling session will open two weeks in advance. 1st August, 10:00 am – Breakfast of Tengkus by Storyteller Nat The Tengku’s chef, Ah Kun, is challenged to create a dish that the Tengku will never tire of eating. What will he whip up? 1st August, 11:00 am – 河水山· Bukit Ho Swee by Storyteller William · 故事人伟光 你知道新加坡的政府组屋是怎么来的吗?来了解 1961年发生的一场大火,看看它如何改变人们的生活,并塑造现代新加坡。· Ever wondered how HDB flats came about in Singapore? Come hear about a great fire that happened in 1961 and how it changed the way Singaporeans lived. 8th August, 10:00 am – Sang Nila Utama and The Raging Seas by Storyteller Misha How did we earn our name, ‘Singapura’? Come hear the legend of Prince Sang Nila Utama to find out! 8th August, 11:00 am – 巴当的传奇· The Legend of Badang by Storyteller William · 故事人伟光 听说过大力士巴当的故事吗?快来听有关新加坡的传奇吧!· Have you ever heard of the mighty Badang? Come and hear this legend from Singapore’s past! 15th August, 10:00 am – Karang Guni Boy & the Wonders of Singapore’s Rainforest by Storyteller Tia From giving old things new life to uncovering the unique creatures that call Singapore home, find out what treasures can be found here! 22nd August, 10:00 am – A Kaya-ful Adventure by Storyteller Marissa Kaia the Kaya goes on a journey through the hawker centre, discovering delicious cuisines that are uniquely Singaporean! 29th August, 10:00 am – The Secret of Kusu by Storyteller Angel from Zip Zap Zoom Collective Do you know the legend of Kusu Island? What if there was even more to the story? Would you like to hear it? Register now and enjoy these stories for FREE! About Gateway Kids Club Gateway Kids Club is a free programme held at Gateway Theatre every Saturday. You can also join the Arts & Crafts session or Free Play activities after the storytelling session! Each month, activities are focused on a different theme.
